Step 1: Prepare the Tassel Material
Choose the material you want to use for your tassels. Embroidery floss is a common choice because it comes in various colors and is easy to work with. Cut a piece of cardboard or stiff paper to your desired tassel length. The longer the cardboard, the longer the tassel will be.
Step 2: Wrap the Material
Take the embroidery floss (or your chosen material) and start wrapping it around the cardboard. The number of wraps will determine the thickness of your tassel. If you want a fuller tassel, wrap the material multiple times. Once you’re satisfied with the thickness, cut the floss from the skein.

Cut a small piece of the same material (about 5 inches long) and slide it under the wrapped floss at the top of the cardboard. Tie a tight knot to secure the wraps together. You can also use a contrasting color of this step to add an extra pop to your tassels.
Step 4: Cut the Bottom of the Tassel
Carefully slide the wrapped floss off the cardboard, ensuring that the knot you tied in the previous step remains intact. Cut another small piece of the same material and wrap it around the top of the tassel, leaving a loop for attaching the earring hook.
