Platinum has good reflectivity and is not easy to lose luster.
Platinum is also known as pure platinum, normal platinum or genuine platinum. But these names are unreasonable and easily confused with platinum.
It's abbreviated as Pt, silver gray, with the specific gravity of 21.35, the melting point at 1700 ℃, Mohs hardness of 4-4.5 degrees, a good chemical stability, acid and alkali corrosion free except aqua regia.
Pure platinum is soft. Ru, Rh, Pd and other metals will increase its hardness. South American Indians made platinum jewelry as early as the 15th century, and Europeans did not use it until the mid 19th century. Japan is now the largest consumer of platinum.

The color will fade, so care must be taken. The maintenance methods of platinum plated jewelry are as follows:
(1) Avoid friction and prevent the surface from falling off;
(2) Avoid direct contact with acid and alkali substances such as soap;
(3) Keep away from cosmetics and avoid contact with them.
(4) The hardness of copper plated gold (silver) is relatively high, while that of platinum plated gold (silver) is relatively low. Care should be taken to avoid collision when wearing.
